Carlin is now 6 days old. She weighs about 14 oz. Which is a good weight gain. Puppies should at least double their weight in the first 7 days. In the right picture you can see her tail being docked. There are many ways to dock a tail, but I have chosen to tie it with an elastic band. The tail should just fall off in the next week or so. Standard calls for docking be between the second and third joint of the tail. At 3 days her front dewclaws were also removed, she did not have any back ones, but if she did by standard they must be removed.
